American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)
The mission of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association is to promote the interests of and provide the highest quality services for professionals in audiology, speech-language pathology, and speech and hearing science, and to advocate for people with communication disabilities.

Council for Exceptional Children (CEC)
The Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) is the largest international professional organization dedicated to improving educational outcomes for individuals with exceptionalities, students with disabilities, and/or the gifted.

Learning Disabilities Association of America (LDA)
LDA is the largest non-profit volunteer organization for individuals with learning disabilities. LDA is the only national organization devoted to defining and finding solutions for the broad spectrum of learning disabilities.

National Institute for Literacy (NIFL)
The National Institute for Literacy is an independent federal organization created to ensure that the highest quality of literacy services is available to adults who need stronger literacy skills in order to take full advantage of continuing lifelong learning opportunities.

National Joint Committee on Learning Disabilities (NJCLD)
NJCLD facilitates communication and cooperation among the member organizations, provides an interdisciplinary forum for the review of issues for educational and governmental agencies, and acts as a resource committee for those agencies and other interested groups.

The Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services

Educational Resources Information Center
The Educational Resources Information Center (ERIC), a federally-funded national information system that provides, through its 16 subject-specific clearinghouses, associated adjunct clearinghouses, and support components, a variety of services and products on a broad range of education-related issues. ERIC is accessed through the Educators Reference Desk.
