Domestic Ordering and Payment
Q: How can I place an order?
A: You may order by phone, website, or mail using a credit card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express). Individuals ordering by mail must include payment (credit card number, expiration date and cardholder name; check or money order).
All orders are subject to a 10% shipping & handling charge and include ground shipping. Shipping and handling charges are waived on all prepaid orders over $250.00.
California and Wisconsin residents, please add the appropriate sales tax. Shipping and Handling fees are taxable for residents of California and Wisconsin.
Purchase Order Sales
Q: Can I submit a purchase order?
A: Yes. Submit your purchase order by mail, email, or fax. Use only one method to submit your purchase order otherwise it may be duplicated.
Institutions that do not have purchase order forms must use professional letterhead stating, “This constitutes an official purchase order form,” and have it signed by an administrative official. You can obtain a quote for your purchase order from the website by doing the following: Add items to shopping cart, go to checkout, click "Prepare a Quote", complete the information and print the quote. Submit the printed quote along with your order on official purchase order form or professional letterhead signed by an administrative official. All billed purchase orders allow 10% shipping & handling fee.

Q: Do you charge sales tax and handling fees?
A: Yes. California and Wisconsin customers please allow sales tax.
Shipping and handling fee minimum is $5.00. California customers: Shipping and Handling fees are taxable for residents of California and Wisconsin. No handling fee on prepaid orders over $250.00 (check, money order, credit card).
Shipping Information:
Prepaid orders over $250 will be shipped free of charge via ground delivery. Please allow 2-3 weeks or longer to fulfill. Prepaid orders under $250 will be shipped via ground delivery (FedEX Ground, SmartPost, USPS).
Expedited delivery is not available at this time.
Q: What are your shipping and handling charges?
A: Within the USA...
• Ground shipping and handling is included on all orders over $250. Please allow 2-3 weeks for delivery and processing.
• A 10%Shipping & handling charge is applied on prepaid orders less than $250.00
• A 10%Shipping & handling charge is applied on billed purchase order sales regardless of amount.
• Shipping & handling charge is 15% for shipments to Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico.
Q: Is expedited delivery available?
A: Expedited delivery is not available at this time.

Q: How can I get a written quote? (For Retail Sales Only)
A: Retail customers may Prepare a Quote on our website to submit with your Purchase Order for billing. You must submit your quote along with your purchase order via fax: (888) 287-9975 or email PO@academictherapy.com to complete your order. (Note: Wholesale customers please contact Patty Laxen at pattyl@academictherapy.com).
Purchasing Assessments
Q: Can anyone purchase assessment materials?
A: Assessment sales are restricted to qualified professionals. Orders for assessments must be placed on official institutional purchase order forms or professional letterhead.
We adhere to the principles presented in the Standards for Educational and Psychological Testing published by the AERA, APA, and NCME. Assessments in our catalog are for use by those who have or are under the supervision of an individual who has a minimum of a bachelor's degree in psychology, education, or a closely related field.
Qualification Level A: No special qualifications required. These materials are usually informal, such as observational checklists.
Qualification Level B: At least a master's degree required, with state licensure OR certification from a professional organization (ASHA, AOTA, APA, AERA, ACA, AMA, NASP, NAN, INS) that requires formal training and experience in ethics, psychometrics, statistics, and test scoring and interpretation. Tests of perceptual, academic, and functional processes used in schools, clinics, and rehabilitation settings are of this level.
Qualification Level C: Restricted to persons with Level B qualifications and/or a doctoral degree in psychology, education, or a closely related field, with formal training and experience in ethics, psychometrics, statistics, and test scoring and interpretation. These tests are usually considered sensitive and assess intellectual and/or personality characteristics for clinical diagnostic purposes.

International Sales and Payment
Q: Do you accept orders from outside the U.S.?
Customers outside the United States are encouraged to first contact one of our international distributors. If a distributor is not available in your area, you may place an order directly with Academic Therapy. Additional shipping and handling charges may apply however. The order must be placed on a credit card tied to an account drawn on a U.S. bank. Add either 30% of the total, or $20.00 (whichever is greater) to cover additional shipping costs. A 10% shipping and handling fee applies to all prepaid orders under $250.00. We ship internationally via Air Mail Insured.
Returns Policy:
Q: What is your returns policy?
A: You may return an item within 30 days of purchase, as long as the item is in saleable condition. Please call (800) 422-7249 for instructions. Desk Copies
Q: Are desk/exam copies available?
A: Desk/exam copies of Teaching Reading Sourcebook and Assessing Reading Multiple Measures are available for college instructors who plan to adopt one of these titles for course instruction. Desk copies are invoiced after shipping and will be credited in full upon course adoption and receipt of college bookstore order. If course is not adopted within 60 days, you may return the book or pay the invoice in full. Only one complimentary exam copy will be available per course, and subsequent bookstore order.
