What on Earth Science Series - Set 2
by Lynn and Bart King
Basic science facts combine with stories of discovery in this series about four friends who venture away from their hometown in search of science subjects for their school video reports. Tess, Nate, Sam, and Val work as a team learning about habitats, from the arctic to the rainforest.
While staying in huts, the students follow guides on a trek through an untamed forest full of exotic plants, nocturnal animals and snakes.
A family trip to the desert doesn't look very promising until the group runs into Miss Jenn, a woman who knows and loves the desert landscape.
The friends visit Sam's old hometown by the beach and wind up having a better understanding of the oceans ecosystem.
Tess visits her aunt at a research lab in the arctic and finds herself on a dogsled in the middle of a snowstorm.
The group join their teacher on a scouting expedition to the mountains and try to keep close to nature while avoiding encroaching on the animal and bird habitats.
